We
start our day with a drive through the scenic countryside and
the centre of Inverness stopping for photo opportunities along
the way starting with a visit to the

"James Pringle Weavers Clan Tartan Centre"
at the
'Holm Mills Shopping Village'
Here you can see how Tartan was produced in the Highlands
Then
drive along the South side of Loch
Ness following the river Ness travelling around the whole of the
Loch
for a spot of Monster watching
keep those eyes peeled ! !

We
then visit the Falls of Foyers

The
spectacular 140ft waterfall drops into the gorge
below which is narrow and wooded so
you have to be quite
an able person
for the walk, although there is good
pathway leading down to the viewing platform, or you can
just take in the view shown from the picture above
Refreshments are available from a cafe opposite the
Falls entrance |

And
then on along the old military road with stunning views in the
Stratherrick area of
The Great Glen

Ft Augustus,
a brief stop here to see the lock gates and boats that travel
along the Caledonian
Canal and
Loch Ness

before
our visit to
14.00
Urquart Castle
(entrance not included)

The visitor centre
has a wide
and varied selection of gifts and refreshments and an
audio-visual
presentation which cannot be missed
Stunning views of Loch Ness and the Castle can be obtained from
the veranda
The pathway descends to the castle so please allow time to get
back to the visitor centre for departure
Then heading back following the North side of the Loch with
one last look before we to set off back to the ship
