When the glaciers melted after the last Ice Age in the UK , the Highland landscape was formed, creating Glens and Lochs. Erosion by debris, boulders and gravel led to the formation of the River Shin and the Falls of Shin which are a natural feature of the River.

Occupying a stunning coastal location where the river Oykel flows through a silted tidal basin.
Common seals are regularly seen out on the sandbars at low tide and where sometime's you can watch the Osprey fishing
